Þið hafið væntanlega lært helling um þolmynd í íslensku. Munurinn á germynd og þolmynd felst í því hvort er verið að tala um þann sem gerir eitthvað eða um þann sem er verið að gera það við. Gerandinn þarf ekki einu sinni að koma fyrir í setningunni.
Í þolmynd er athyglin ekki á þeim sem er að gera eitthvað, heldur því sem er gert.
